Join David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) for an acoustic and intimate evening of live performance under a full Leo moon at Little Tree Art Studios​ in Atlanta (Avondale Estates), on March 1, 2018. He will be playing new songs and fan favorites. Opening act The Hot Place. The Hot Place opened up for David J's recent SE leg of his "Vagabond Songs" LP tour, at Little Tree Studios in Atlanta; Georgia Theatre Rooftop in Athens; and The Chapel at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. The band is currently in the studio working on their second LP. Look for more live shows this Autumn!

The Hot Place, (Lisa King, Jeff Calder, and Mike Lynn) will be on a mini-tour of the SE this Summer. The band will be opening up for David J (of Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) on a Southeastern leg of David's "Vagabond Songs" LP tour. Tickets for The Atlanta show on 6/7, The Athens show on 6/9, and the Savannah show on 6/11 are on sale now. These intimate and acoustic living room shows will be held at Little Tree Studios in Atlanta, The Rooftop Bar at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, and The Chapel at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Criminal Records Instore: Join Moderator Chad Radford and Host Lisa King, for an instore, signing, and Q&A panel with David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) at Criminal Records, in Little Five Points, Atlanta. No Big Wheel Records presents an album release party for The Hot Place, (Lisa King, Jeff Calder, Mike Lynn and Robert Schmid) with very special opening guests DJ Gori & Kevin McFoy Dunn, on Saturday, November 15th from 7 p.m. until Midnight, at Little Tree Studios in Avondale Estates, Ga. The Hot Place will play The Language of Birds live in its entirety. DJ Gori will be spinning No Big Wheel Records artists Tenguzame, Casual Ties, Morturizer, Eccentric Funeral, The Von Vons, and some ambient, 80's post-punk, and new-wave music in between bands. Maestro Kevin will be playing his own special blend of cocktail music from space, peppered with baroque guitar and acoustic resonator slide.

The Hot Place will have copies of their 180 gram limited edition orange vinyl available for $20, Digital Download Cards for $10, t-shirts, pins, and posters. The band will be available after the show to sign merch, and take photographs. The event is free, with some refreshments provided. It is an all ages show, you can BYOB, and snacks. It is a no smoking event. Parking is available in front of the space, and on the street. Be aware that this event may be filmed.

Atlanta band The Hot Place have released their debut album, The Language of Birds on No Big Wheel Records. The band revolves around the musical partnership of bassist /vocalist Lisa King, and producer/guitarist Jeff Calder, the leader of the legendary 1980's New-Wave rockers, The Swimming Pool Q's. Rounding out the lineup is Mike Lynn on guitar and Robert Schmid, the SPQ's original drummer. The album features special guest guitarist Richard Lloyd of NYC proto-punk band Television on two tracks. The Hot Place will play its debut show on Friday, Sept 12 during the International Pop Overthrow fest at the Star Bar, in Atlanta, GA. Copies of their new 180 gram orange vinyl record will be available, fresh off the presses and in tow at the IPO event.
Album release party with very special guests is scheduled for Saturday, November 15. More details including time and location of this semi-private event are to follow.
